Her portfolio spans exhibitions, magazine and newspaper features, gallery consignments, and commercial installations. She has painted large-scale murals, sculpted props, and created backdrops for major television productions. Most recently, she was featured on the television series Colour in Your Life.

Outside the studio, Brigitte enjoys time with her children, horses, and dog. She stays active and finds peace at the beach—another source of inspiration.
In addition to her main body of work, Brigitte collaborates with her son on a children’s art venture called Peek-a-view. Designed to offer affordable murals for kids’ rooms, the project includes canvases in three sizes and a book currently in production.

Art is not just Brigitte Dawson’s profession—it’s her way of life. Through every brushstroke and sculpture, she continues to share her passion, her perspective, and her heartfelt connection to the world around her.

Brigitte Dawson is a mixed media artist whose life is a vibrant tapestry of creation and collaboration. With years of diverse artistic training behind her, she has cultivated a distinctive style that she describes as “a mix of realism and loose expression.” Her work often centres on the human figure and animals—especially horses—capturing both their majesty and vulnerability.

“So many things stir my passion to create,” Brigitte shares. “I love the human form and faces. I love to paint animals in all their wonderful glory or vulnerabilities. I would love if people could appreciate and love what we have on this earth.” Her inspiration springs from anything that evokes joy or emotional resonance—quotes, spiritual themes, and moments that simply make her smile.

Brigitte is drawn to subject matter that stirs deep emotion and nostalgia. Her influences span centuries and styles, from the classical mastery of Michelangelo and Rembrandt to the expressive energy of Voka, Elise Genest, and Kristen Knight.

Her studio is located at 14 Mornington Tyabb Road, Tyabb 3913, where she not only paints but also co-manages a café gallery. She is an active member of several arts organisations, including the Cardinia Arts Society, Peninsula Arts Group, and the Victorian Artists Society.

Her work has earned her four People’s Choice Awards and special commendations for both her paintings and bronze sculptures.
Described by viewers as “soulful” and “beautiful,” Brigitte is deeply grateful for the emotional connection people find in her work. “My favourite is when people love the mood or the moment that I’ve been able to create,” she says.
